The numerals on this pendulum wall clock were inspired by the face of a clock Rennie Mackintosh designed for The Hill House in Helensburgh. The base panel I designed from the motif on the chair backs in the Argyle Street Tearooms in Glasgow, which is yet another example of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s genius.
The clock is constructed in solid wood throughout with dowel joints and mitred joints for the mouldings holding the face and panel in position. The example in this photograph uses oak, but it can also be made in ash, teak, mahogany or American Black Walnut to suit your tastes.
The face is machined from plastic laminate and the clock and pendulum mechanisms are ready made quartz movements.
